Iansan, Varesa debuts, Xianyun, Venti, Xilonen reruns
Version 5.5 will feature two new characters in Iansan and Varesa. Varesa is confirmed to be a 5-star Electro character, while Iansan is a 4-star.
Varesa will wield a catalyst as her weapon of choice, and will have a DPS-centric kit that focuses on her speed and plunging attacks. She will run (get it?) alongside the Anemo character Xianyun in the first half of the version update. Iansan, who wields a polearm, is joining the roster of 4-stars as a polearm user.
Varesa is known as a stalwart warrior and an orchard owner from the Collective of Plenty. Iansan describes Varesa as her most unusual pupil, known for her laid-back and childish personality. Her 5-star best-in-slot weapon, Vivid Notions, will headline the weapon banner.
Iansan has been a well-known character who has sparked the intrigue of many fans since her existence was hinted at back in 2020, thanks to the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview: Travail video. She featured as one of the central characters to the Natlan Archon quest.
Varesa’s debut will also include a tribal chronicle which will net players rich rewards like Primogems, Mystic Enhancement Ore, and more.
A new boss, called the Lava Dragon Statue will also be introduced, which will provide Varesa’s ascension materials.
New Artifact sets, new map expansion, new saurians, new upcoming character?
With the new update, two new Artifact sets are also set to be introduced, those being:
- Long Night’s Oath - which is connected to the lore behind Schenzhnaya's Nod Krai
- Finale of the Deep Galleries
These sets will be available in an all-new domain with the Natlan map expansion. The map expansion will feature the territory of one of the six tribes of Natlan known as the Collective of Plenty, where both Iansan and Varesa hail from. We even get a quick glimpse at who could be the next playable character to be added to the roster in the trailer: Ifa, who is known as a professional Saurian veterinarian.
With this new area, a world quest will also be made available, where it seems the Traveler, Paimon, and the little Saurian companion face off against an impending calamity concerning a volcanic eruption, and a long abandoned city within the volcano.
A new Saurian will also be introduced with the map expansion: Totonkasaurs! These bull-like Saurians are known for their brute strength and ability to doze over every obstacle in their way. It’s revealed that Varesa has a Totonkasaur of her own, named Banana.
Main event: Tournament of Glory in Bloom and more
This main event will feature a ton of Natlan characters, and is a competition funded by Mavuika to help an ailing Saurian. The event will feature two sub-events: Bloomflower Trials, where players are set to face off various enemies to seize their main base through offensive or defensive battles, and Saurian Treasure Seeker, where players control a Saurian in a board game-like setting to gather treasures. The event will give players a free Ororon among other rewards.
Other events are:
- Quirky Quaking Arena - a coop event
- Rhythm Ball Mezti - a music event
- Unlimited Fighting Championship - a high difficulty combat challenge event.
- Overflowing Favor - doubles artifact drops
- Repertoire of Myriad Melodies - a permanent music game that features original soundtrack for the game
Dehya and Venti are also getting new Envisaged Echoes, which can be attained through certain challenges.
