Larian Studios has officially announced the release date of the final major update for Baldur’s Gate 3, Patch 8, set to launch on April 15, 2025. This highly-anticipated update introduces crossplay, a photo mode, and 12 new subclasses, making it one of the most significant patches since the game’s launch.
Each of the 12 core classes receives a new subclass: College of Glamour Bard, Path of Giants Barbarian, Death Domain Cleric, Circle of Stars Druid, Oath of the Crown Paladin, Arcane Archer Fighter, Drunken Master Monk, Fey Wanderer Ranger, Phantom Rogue, Shadow Magic Sorcerer, Hexblade Warlock, and War Magic Wizard.
Crossplay support now allows players across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S to enjoy seamless multiplayer experiences. The addition of a fully functional photo mode enables players to capture their adventures with filters, poses, and customizable settings. The in-game Mod Manager has also been updated with official mod support, improving stability and customization options. Gameplay improvements include better perception checks, enhanced scroll usability in dialogues, and adjustments to NPC behavior.
Larian Studios will host a live stream on Twitch on April 16, 2025, featuring developer insights into the new subclasses to celebrate the release. Additionally, Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently 20% off on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox stores until 21 April, 2025.
