Genshin Impact 5.0: Nightsoul’s Blessing explained

Source: HoYoverse

Nightsoul’s Blessing is the newest exploration and combat mechanic to be introduced in Natlan.

With a new region comes a totally new mechanic! What exactly is “Nightsoul’s Blessing” and what does it do to aid your journey in Natlan? Read on to find out!

Buffing with extra steps

Nightsoul’s Blessing is a combat and exploration mechanic exclusive to all Natlan characters. When active, it will allow a character to utilise “Phlogiston Engraving” to communicate with their tribe’s Wayob and Ley Lines to enhance strength and movement capability.

Each character has a unique reaction to Nightsoul’s Blessing. For example, Mualani can trigger this effect to surf anytime, on any surface, as well as receive Nightsoul Points to enter the Nightsoul’s Blessing State. Upon entering this state, Mualani will have increased movement speed, as well as enhanced attacks.

Nightsoul Points are consumed when the Nightsoul’s Blessing is in effect. Characters can continue the blessing while in Natlan by consuming Phlogiston when their Nightsoul Points run out.

Characters will also trigger a Nightsoul’s Burst when they deal elemental DMG to an opponent, with the duration of its cooldown depending on the number of Natlan characters in your party. The CD being: 18 seconds for 1 character, 12 seconds for 2 characters, and 9 seconds for 3 or more characters.

A specific effect of a Nightsoul Burst for example is: providing Kachina with a 20% Geo DMG increase for 12 seconds once triggered.

There are also special passives for Natlan characters, that being: Night Realm’s Gift Passive. The Night Realm’s Gift Passive relates to each character’s Nightsoul’s Blessing, triggering the Nightsoul Transmission

Nightsoul Transmission occurs when switching to a Natlan character whose avatar is lighting up. The effect will allow swift movement depending on said character’s Night Realm’s Gift Passive. For example, upon switching to Kachina while in the air, sprinting, or climbing, she will be able to ride her Turbo Twirly when taking the field while gaining 30 Nightsoul Points. Kachina will also consume 90% less stamina when climbing while on Turbo Twirly if she is in Natlan.

Genshin Impact version 5.0 will be released on August 28 and will feature the new region of Natlan, three new characters in Mualani, Kinich, and Kachina, as well as tons of other updates. The newest version also comes with more generous rewards for players, including tons of Primogems for completing Archon Quests and a free standard 5-star character for every anniversary of the game moving forward.

Genshin Impact version 5.0 will also play host to the game's fourth anniversary on September 28, with the slate of anniversary rewards for players also including one free standard 5-star character of their choice.
