The standalone app of Magic Chess announced its grand launch for the APAC region on 21 February, 2025.
MOONTON Games has announced that Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) will launch in the APAC region on 21 February. The launch will see the free-to-play multiplayer strategy game become available for download in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand on iOS and Android. The auto battler had previously soft-launched in Malaysia and Singapore on 29 November 2024.
Magic Chess: Go Go is a standalone game spinning out of the beloved Magic Chess game mode from Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. From the press release given by MOONTON Games, Magic Chess: Go Go has surpassed 15 million pre-registrations to date.
Gao "Skyhook" Chong, MCGG Producer at MOONTON Games, said:
"In MLBB lore, MCGG exists as a widely popular game in the Land of Dawn. Created by a "mysterious game designer", MCGG's Commanders, Go Go Cards, and Synergies are based on the heroes, legends, and stories circulating in the continent. With the APAC Grand Launch, we are taking this concept out into the real world—offering gamers a fresh competitive field to enjoy the rich and immersive world of MLBB."
Season 1 of Magic Chess: Go Go, “Rising Dawn” will offer a host of free and exclusive rewards. Players can receive 14 Commanders (1-Star), the "Ruins of Fall" Chessboard Skin, and skins for free by playing MCGG. MLBB players can also claim the free X.Borg "Pecados Rioter" skin in MLBB by linking their accounts and completing missions in MCGG.
MCGG's inaugural season will feature a seasonal Two-Player Mode, which will go live in March. The mode will require players to pair up and battle against other duos. Each player in a duo can send one 1-star hero to their partner for additional support during the match. The team's overall standing will also be determined by the higher-ranked player in the duo.
Each season will also introduce MLBB Heroes into the MCGG battlefield as Commanders. Season 1 sees the MCGG debut of fan-favourite Miya. The Moonlight Archer was the first new Hero to launch in MLBB.
Veteran players of Magic Chess will have their inventories converted at 100% value into MCGG currency—comprising Golden Diamonds, Gift Tickets, and Passes—as part of the Gratitude Event. These can be exchanged for Commanders and skins in the MCGG Shop.
Gao Chong added:
"MCGG is the culmination of many years of dedicated development and testing. But our APAC Grand Launch is only the start. We will be rolling out more exciting intiatives in the coming weeks and months, including much-requested-for esports tournaments, which is one of our immediate priorities for MCGG."
Magic Chess: Go Go will launch in the APAC region on 21 February, 2025. No details have been made available on its global release.
