MPL Indonesia Season 14 has begun with a thumping win for Fnatic ONIC and a thriller between EVOS Glory and Dewa United.
The MPL Indonesia Season 14 has officially begun with two matches between four polar-opposite teams in the transfer windows. Fnatic ONIC showed their dominance over the MPL Indonesia by defeating Team Liquid ID in an undisputed 2-0 victory. In the second match, Dewa United Esports humbled the runner-up of MPL Indonesia Season 13 by taking them down by a 2-1 score.
Fnatic ONIC coming into the match against Team Liquid ID as the champion of Season 13. They maintained their squad from the previous season except Butss who left the lineup before the start of the season. Team Liquid, on the other hand, promoted two of their MDL members and recruited Jeymz from the PH Academy branch.
The match between the two of them went as expected as the defending champion showed prowess in both mechanical and macro-gameplay. Their gameplay showed their desire to qualify for the biggest MLBB international tournament this season, the M6 World Championship.
The first game between both of them was a rust-cleaner from the defending champion as they defeated Team Liquid ID in a 22-minute match. While the other players seemed to be cleaning their ring rust, Kairi and Lutpii showed that they were always in prime condition as they outclassed their opponent.

However, the same as in the previous game, Lutpii and Kairi fully controlled the map with their time-precise timing as they out-macroed the Team Liquid ID lineup. Two zero, the score at the end of their meeting.
EVOS Glory trusted their lineup from the previous season, where they reached the grand final and secured a slot in MSC 2024 with Douma being the only addition to the team. Dewa United Esports, on the other hand, revamped their lineup with Watt being the senior member of the team and needed to lead them to glory,
The match between EVOS Glory and Dewa United Esports had a different tone than the last match on Day 1. The two teams exchanged victories before settling it in a thrilling Game 3. The third game lasted for a good 23 minutes before the EVOS Glory defense finally shattered and their base turret was destroyed.
In the end, Dewa United Esports got the 2-1 win against the M1 World Champion.
