Marvel Rivals announced that every new season will be shorter, starting with Season 3.
Marvel Rivals has announced that starting from Season 3, every season will last two months instead of three. This shorter season is also accompanied by two hero releases per season, which means that Netease will release a new hero every month. Additionally, with the seasonal duration being reduced, Marvel Rivals will also adjust other season-related systems. However, further details on that will be announced at a later date.
According to the developer, the Battle Pass's Mission System lacks clarity, which culminates in fewer players completing the Battle Pass by the end of the season. To address the issue, Marvel Rivals will implement weekly missions alongside daily and challenge missions while retaining the total number of Chrono Tokens that can be received.
The redistribution of tokens should provide players with smoother expectations of the amount of Chrono Tokens they received by login and missions.
Besides the big Seasonal change starting from Season 3, the Dev Vision video also revealed that Season 2 will see the introduction of new color options for popular skins. However, it wasn't clear if these would require an additional purchase. Players can now also gift skins to other players.
New team-ups were also revealed, including one featuring Captain America and the Winter Soldier, along updates for older ones. Some team-ups are also being removed, such as the team-up of Thor, Captain America, and Storm.
Season 2 also introduces players to Emma Frost, who will be available when the season starts. In addition to Emma Frost, Season 2 will also see the arrival of Ultron in the midseason. Season 2 of Marvel Rivals arrives on 11 April, 2025.
