With the MPL Indonesia Season 11 quickly approaching, all the teams in the upcoming tournament have confirmed their rosters.
Although we have yet to have confirmation of the dates for the upcoming Mobile Legends Professional League Season 11 in Indonesia, we do have confirmations of the rosters from all eight teams involved. With some big roster changes, coaches moving around, and all-round reshuffles, the teams will be looking to dominate the Regular Season and get themselves a solid grounding going towards the Playoffs. We have already looked at some of the roster changes previously, such as R7 deciding to take a break from the competitive side of MLBB and making room for a new face at RRQ Hoshi – but there are other big changes which we document below.
Geek Slate
Geek Fam have been a long-standing fixture within the MPL ID scene, constantly in the running to take the title. While the team have never really had a great showing, or even reached the Playoffs, the team have given some of the biggest teams a tough time. This year sees Geek Fam team up with Slate Esports, as they rebrand to Geek Slate. With this change, the team also acquired Matthew “Matt” Geraldo from Bigetron Beta on loan, hoping to further bolster their fairly strong roster.
ONIC Esports
Having dominated the grand final of MPL ID Season 10, ONIC did not need to make too many major adjustments to continue on their magnificent path to the top in the region. However, the team did decide to bring in a new coach, in the form of Adi Syofian “Acil” Asyauri – an ex-analyst for RRQ Hoshi, joining alongside Paul Denver “Yeb” Lintag Miranda. The now ex-coach for ONIC, Ronaldo Aditya “Aldo” Lieberth leaves the team to join Bigetron Alpha.
EVOS Legends
EVOS are another team with a long history within the MLBB scene in both Indonesia and the world, but the team have struggled to break into the top 2 spots since winning MPL ID Season 7. Season 10 saw the biggest slump for the team, as they failed to reach the Playoffs, and with no hopes for M4, changes needed to be made. The team have moved some players around within their rosters, such as the Philippine’s based Gerald “Dlar” Tinchera moving into a content creator role, while Ferdyansyah “Ferxiic” Kumaruddin returns to the main roster. However, the biggest change to the team is the coach one, which sees Bjorn “Zeys” Ong going inactive, while Stenley “TaxStump” Hermawan takes over as the head coach.
While there are a few more smaller changes within the roster, these are the ones which stand out the most. Whether or not any of these changes will allow the teams to contest the MPL ID championship against its natural winners – ONIC and RRQ, remains to be seen. With that said, we will have to wait and see just who comes out ahead when the MPL ID Season 11 Regular Season kicks off in February.
