After playing second fiddle to Brusko last year, SpiderMilez is now free to search for another opportunity this seaason.

ONIC Philippines announced on Tuesday (January 13) that they have parted ways with substitute roamer Brian “SpiderMilez” Santos. SpiderMilez is now free to search for another opportunity this season after playing second fiddle to Borris James “Brusko” Parro throughout the second half of 2024, which culminated with the team being crowned as champions of the M6 World Championship.

SpiderMilez joined ONIC Philippines in July 2024, back when the team was still called Fnatic ONIC PH, following the disbandment of Minana EVOS. He joined the team with two former Minana EVOS teammates, Jann Kirk Solcruz “Kirk” Gutierrez and the returning Brusko from RRQ Hoshi

While he shared the same role as Brusko, the latter became the starting roamer in the ONIC Philippines roster. Interestingly, back in Minana EVOS, SpiderMilez was trusted to be the main roamer.

Together with ONIC Philippines, SpiderMilez became a champion of MPL Philippines Season 14 with an astounding 4-3 victory against Aurora Gaming. From there, the team looked unstoppable, with an undefeated record across all stages in the M6 World Championship that saw them become the fifth-straight Filipino world champions of Mobile Legends.

SpiderMilez's departure from ONIC Philippines comes during a period of drastic change for the organisation, which announced the end of their six-month partnership with Fnatic earlier this month. While ONIC Philippines and Fnatic became last year's Mobile Legends world champions together, the new Esports World Cup 2024 rules forbid any joint venture team to get Club Championship points from this year's edition of the Esports World Cup.

After his stint with ONIC Philippines, sources tell GosuGamers that SpiderMilez is expected to move to MENA to join Twisted Minds. The Saudi Arabian organisation's popularity skyrocketed after winning MPL MENA Season 6, beating Geekay Esports in the grand final with a 4-1 score. However, their performance on the international stage wasn't stellar, as they got eliminated in the M6 World Championship Swiss Stage with a 2-3 scoreline.
