Having already covered the power rankings for week 3, we're now moving onwards to the final two weeks of the PCS 2021 Spring season. For now, only Beyond Gaming and PSG Talon have already secured their spots in the second round of the winner's bracket.
Third to sixth place will play in the first round of the winner's bracket while seventh and eighth battle it out in the loser's bracket. In case you've already forgotten, here's how the standings are currently looking:
The biggest attraction for this week is seeing who can come out on top in the three-way tie between J Team, BOOM Esports, and Machi Esports. These three teams will be playing a total of three games over the course of week 4 with the last game between BOOM Esports versus Machi Esports. This will definitely be one to watch as a potential tiebreaker of sorts between the three-way tie.
Another subplot in the PCS 2021 Spring season is seeing who will survive the drop. Currently, Hong Kong Attitude (HKA) and Liyab Esports are the bottom two teams this season. Alpha Esports (ALF) is also part of the mix as it shares the same scoreline with HKA. ALF will have its work cut out for them as they will be playing against PSG Talon and Beyond Gaming this week, which could potentially determine their fate this season.
Malaysia's very own Berjaya Dragons are also in a bit of a sticky situation at the moment. Currently, they are in seventh place - one below Impunity of Singapore. With three games to play this week (Machi Esports, HKA, and J Team), this is Berjaya Dragons' chance to possibly climb the leaderboards and make it into the playoffs.
Of course, that could be asking a lot. After all, they are the only team to lose to Liyab Esports, gifting them their first win of the season.
The games are coming thick and fast now so be sure to stay tuned as we will be updating the power rankings as we go along.
