Yumemizuki Mizuki is set to debut in Genshin Impact’s version 5.4 update as a new Anemo character.
Although Genshin Impact version 5.3 is far from over, developer HoYoverse is drumming up the hype for the next 5.4 update by revealing a new playable character joining the roster: Yumemizuki Mizuki!
Yumemizuki Mizuki will wield the Anemo element, although her rarity and weapon of choice have yet to be revealed. Mizuki will also be the latest Inazuman character to be released after Chiori, who debuted as a Geo 5-star character back in 2024.
Mizuki has yet to make an appearance in-game, but information through her drip marketing has revealed that she is a clinical psychologist and a major shareholder of the Aisa Bathouse, located at the heart of Inazuma city.
Besides her profession, Mizuki is also revealed to be a yumekui-baku, a creature from Japanese folktale that’s said to devour nightmares. In the world of Genshin Impact, the yumekui-baku took on the shape of human girls to staff the Aisa Bathhouse, where tired and weary Inazumans can go in to discover a ‘newfound sense of happiness’ after availing of its services. The yumekui-baku are essentially the therapists of Teyvat.
As such, Mizuki made a name for herself through Aisa Bathhouse and her expertise with clinical psychology, making her an invaluable asset to the bathhouse and any despondent Inazuman’s person to rely on to alleviate them of their worries. But behind Mizuki’s calm demeanor and revitalising smile, there may be a hint of weariness that only a few people can glean. Perhaps even Mizuki has struggles deep within her that needs some gentle therapy, but we’ll only know once she’s fully released.
Genshin Impact is currently in the first half of its version 5.3 update, featuring the debut banners of the Pyro Archon Mavuika and the enigmatic Citlali.
