The second day of the ESL One Raleigh 2025 Playoffs on Saturday (12 April) saw the first three teams get eliminated in the lower bracket. AVULUS and Nigma Galaxy fell in the first round of the lower bracket to Team Liquid and BetBoom Team, respectively, before Liquid were themselves knocked out by PARIVISION in the lower bracket quarterfinals to close out the day.

Meanwhile, Liquid bow out of the tournament in 5th-6th place and will take home US$60,000 in consolation. AVULUS and Nigma Galaxy also exit in 7th-8th place with US$42,500 for their efforts.

Here's how all the action in Day 5 of ESL One Raleigh 2025 went down:

PARIVISION survive first set of elimination matches in ESL One Raleigh

Lower bracket round 1

Team Liquid2-0AVULUS

The day started down in the first round of the lower bracket, where a shorthanded Liquid squad with Jonathan Bryle “Bryle” Santos De Guia as a stand-in bested AVULUS to advance to the lower bracket quarterfinals.

The series started with both teams on relatively even footing for much of the game until the 33-minute mark, when Liquid exerted their dominance in the teamfights behind Micke “miCKe” Vu's carry Tiny and Jonáš “SabeRLighT-” Volek's Tidehunter to take their opening win in 42 minutes of action. MiCKe and SabeRLighT combined for 21 kills and 38 assists on two deaths apiece to pace their team's 35-16 kill lead in the series opener.

MiCKe then showed out on Gyrocopter to lead Liquid to the win in a 49-minute slugfest, with Liquid's carry player notching 14 kills and nine assists on three deaths out of his team's 28-23 kill lead in the closeout game.

Liquid couldn't rest on their laurels after this victory, however, as they still had to play in the lower bracket quarterfinals against PARIVISION in the third and final match of the day.

BetBoom Team2-0Nigma Galaxy

The second series of the day saw BetBoom soundly sweep Nigma Galaxy to round out the Top 6 at ESL One Raleigh. This notably marked Nigma Galaxy's eighth consecutive loss in the tournament after their perfect 4-0 start in the first day of the Group Stage.

BetBoom were on fire to start the series, as they stomped Nigma Galaxy to the tune of a 31-4 kill lead in just under 29 minutes to claim their opening win. Danil “gpk” Skutin on Dragon Knight led the way for BetBoom with 10 kills and nine assists on just one death while Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko on Lifestealer and Matvey “MieRo” Vasyunin on an offlane Kunkka notched a clean six kills apiece and combined for 21 assists.

Game two saw BetBoom dominate once again, but Nigma Galaxy were able to put up a stubborn defense that allowed them to hold out for 51 minutes before utlimately conceding the 2-0 series sweep. MieRo on Timbersaw paced BetBoom's 33-21 kill lead in the closeout game with 10 kills and 16 assists on one death while Pure on his second straight game as Lifestealer had nine kills and 12 assists on two deaths.

Unlike Liquid, BetBoom earned some reprieve after their first elimination match of the Playoffs as they will next play in day six against Team Falcons.

Lower bracket quarterfinals

PARIVISION2-1Team Liquid

The day then closed out with PARIVISION pulling off a 2-1 reverse sweep over Liquid, recovering from throwing away the win in game one with back-to-back stomps against the reigning The International champions.

PARIVISION started the series strong behind Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov's Phantom Assassin, who finished the game with 10 kills and confidently all-chatted his opponents that they “can't beat him." Despite being down in net worth for almost the entire game, Liquid played the late game teamfights spectacularly to steal away the game one win after an action-packed 42 minutes.

PARIVISION were quick to shake off their loss in game one, however, as they stomped Liquid in game two in 35 minutes to force the series to a deciding third game. Volodymyr “No[o]ne” Minenko on a mid Beastmaster led the way for PARIVISION with 11 kills and assists apiece on two deaths out of his team's 24-11 kill lead. Satanic on Templar Assassin also pitched in with nine kills and five assists on one death.

PARIVISION continued rolling in game three, blindsiding Liquid with a surprise Meepo pick for Satanic to secure the 2-1 reverse sweep in 33 minutes and up 24-8 in kills. Satanic finished with seven kills and assists each on two deaths while No[o]ne on a mid Beastmaster again had six kills and 12 assists on one death.
