HoYoverse, the developer of popular RPGs such as Zenless Zone Zero, Genshin Impact, and Honkai: Star Rail, has confirmed that Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ), is coming to Xbox in June 2025, coinciding with the launch of its highly anticipated Version 2.0 update. The announcement was made in a special Xbox livestream on Saturday (12 April):
In Zenless Zone Zero, players explore a post-apocalyptic world reshaped by a supernatural catastrophe known as the "Hollows". Amidst the devastation, New Eridu has emerged as humanity’s final bastion. Players take on the role of a Proxy—guiding clients into the Hollow zones, each with their own reasons for entering.
What to expect in Version 2.0
Version 2.0 marks a major milestone for ZZZ. The game will be introducing new regions and explorable areas, agents, factions, and additional gameplay features. There will be a new story arc that will take place in Waifei Peninsula, an urban zone near the highly volatile Lemnian Hollow. ZZZ will also have many other gameplay and quality-of-life improvements based on player feedback.
ZZZ comes to Xbox Series X|S in June
The update also launches alongside ZZZ’s Xbox Series X|S debut. Xbox players will be able to enjoy optimised features like native 4K visuals at 60 FPS, enhanced lighting through DirectX RayTracing, and full HDR support. There’s also the Quick Resume functionality, which allows for seamless game switching, making it easier for players to dive back into action.
Subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will also enjoy exclusive login rewards, including Polychromes and Dennies, which are claimable after each major update.
The Xbox release comes with tailored controller support, including enhanced vibration feedback for immersive combat. Players will also benefit from full cross-progression and cross-server functionality, ensuring a smooth experience across all platforms. Game Pass Ultimate users can take advantage of Xbox Cloud Gaming to play without downloading the game or owning a console.
