Week 3 power rankings for the PCS 2021 Spring season

We're back once again with our weekly power rankings of the PCS 2021 Spring season. Last weekend, we saw Beyond Gaming already cement their place in the playoffs with their flawless play. This week, PSG Talon joins them in securing their own playoff spot.

The three-way fight for third place is definitely heating up now with BOOM Esports, J Team, and Machi Esports all sharing the spoils at the moment with a 7-4 score. Impunity makes up the rest of the top six teams with Berjaya Dragons and Alpha Esports close behind.

As for the bottom two teams (Hong Kong Attitude and Liyab Esports), they still have an arduous journey ahead of them. For the latter, they finally secured their first win of the season, which was against Berjaya Dragons.

Beyond Gaming

Being the first team to secure a playoff spot, Beyond Gaming wasn't messing around and made sure to send a message to every other team with decisive performances against Berjaya Dragons, Machi Esports, and J Team. They further extended their league on the table with a nine-game winning streak to boot.

PSG Talon

By taking the W against BOOM Esports, Machi Esports, and Hong Kong Alliance, PSG Talon managed to secure their own slot into the playoffs. They also share the same points and current win streak with Beyond Gaming with a score of 10-1 and a nine-game unbeaten run.

BOOM Esports

The team from Indonesia have managed to make third place theirs for the second week running, fending off the likes of J Team and Machi Esports. While they did lose their first two games of the weekend, they managed to claw themselves back into the picture with wins against Berjaya Esports and Alpha Esports.

J Team

Tied for third place alongside BOOM Esports is J Team, moving up from fifth last week a three-way tie for third. They managed to take victories from Hong Kong Alliance, Alpha Esports, and Impunity before losing against Beyond Gaming.

Machi Esports

It has been a disastrous few weeks for Machi Esports. The team was leading the charge after the first week of games with some solid performances but recent results indicate otherwise. By the third week, they are now in fifth after losing crucial matches against the top two teams. However, they did make up for it somewhat with two more wins against BOOM Esports and Liyab Esports.

Impunity

Having dropped to eighth last week, Impunity has managed to climb the table and up to the sixth place. While they did drop a game against J Team, they did manage to take victories against Liyab Esports and Hong Kong Alliance. While their overall score is still 4-6, Impunity has done well to keep themselves within a shout of the competition.

Berjaya Dragons

It has not been all smooth sailing for the Malaysian team as they drop down to seventh in the table, losing out on their original sixth spot to Impunity. They came out of week three in terrible shape, taking only one win from four games.

Alpha Esports

After a disastrous two weeks where they were considered one of the bottom two teams, Alpha Esports have finally managed to redeem themselves somewhat by taking the last playoff spot. They're currently on the same 2-9 score with Hong Kong Alliance, but its the latter who are coming off of it worse with their current eight-game losing streak.

Hong Kong Alliance

In ninth place lie Hong Kong Alliance, who at one point were fifth in the table. Week two and three were not kind as we saw Hong Kong Alliance lose eight straight games after winning their opening two matches. While there is still time to redeem themselves, they have a steep uphill battle to push through first.

Liyab Esports

While they are currently in last and most likely to not make it into the playoffs, at least we got to see Liyab Esports win their first game of the season. While it doesn't count for much in the grand scheme of things, at least they won't be going home knowing they got knocked out without winning a single game.
