Honor of Kings esports regional league kicks off the race to Honor of Kings World Cup

The race to the Honor of Kings World Cup started with the Honor of Kings regional league kickoff.

Honor of Kings has announced the details of its regional Leagues, which kicked off today (11 April) for some regions and later on 17 or 18 April for others. An exception was made for the Wildcard Kings Series and Honor of Kings Brazil Championship, which will start on 16 May. 

The leagues are Indonesia Kings Laga (IKL), Malaysia Honor of Kings League (MKL), Philippine Kings League (PKL), Wildcard Kings Series (WKS), Major East League (KME), Major West League (KMW), and Honor of Kings Brazil (CHOKBR). The best teams in each regional league will earn slots at the prestigious Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC), which will be hosted in July as part of the Esports World Cup 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 

Teams competing in the leagues include those who qualified via the Open Series Split 3, which saw over 150,000 players worldwide sign up, according to Tencent Games' press release. Details on Open Series Split 4 will be announced soon.

The best teams from the regional leagues will qualify for the Honor of Kings World Cup, which will be part of the Esports World Cup 2025 (Image: Tencent Games). 

The KWC will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, bringing together 18 teams worldwide to compete at the highest level. This year's KWC will represent a seminal milestone as the global teams will confront the champions of China's King Pro League (KPL) Spring Season for the first time.

Here is the complete list of Honor of Kings regional leagues: 

  1. Indonesia Kings Laga 
    • Teams: Rex Regum Qeon, ONIC, Alter Ego Enma, Bigetron Esports, Dominator Esports, Kagendra, Mahadewa Esports, Talon, Vesakha Esports, Team Nemesis
      • Group Stage:  11 April to 18 May 
      • Playoffs: 30 May to 1 June
      • Prize pool: US$60,000
      • Playoff Venue: Mall Taman Anggrek 
  2. MY Honor of Kings League 
    • Teams: Black Shrew Esport, Nova Esports, Team Secret, Todak, O2 ESPORTS, AG Global, DTE Gaming, and Soul Esport
      • Group Stage: 18 April to 25 May 
      • Playoffs: 6 to 8 June
      • Prize pool: US$60,000
      • Playoff Venue: Sunway Pyramid 
  3. Philippine Kings League 
    • Teams: BOOM Esports, Blacklist International, Team Flash PH, Team Eureka, TNT Tropang Alab, Elevate, Rough World Era, and ACT Esports
      • Group Stage: 11 April to 25 May 
      • Playoffs: 6 to 8 June 
      • Prize pool: US$45,000
      • Playoff Venue: TBA
  4. Wildcard Kings Series 
    • Teams: Impunity Esports, Team Max, See You Soon, PRO Esports, Ultra Rare Esports, Paradise Esports, and two more teams to be determined by 4 May.
      • Group Stage: 16 May to 1 June 
      • Playoffs: 6 to 8 June
      • Prize pool: US$20,000
  5. Major East League
    • Teams: Nongshim RedForce, Crazy Raccoon, Gen.G Esports, R8 Esports, Vicious Esports, VENOM US, and SCARZ
      • Group Stage: 17 to 20 April and 24 to 27 April 
      • Knockout Stage: 2 to 3 May
      • Major Last Call: 4 May
      • Prize pool: US$50,000
  6. Major West League 
    • Teams: OG Esports, NEXT RÜYA, Virtus.pro, 9z Globant, Movistar KOI, AYLO GAMING, and Twisted Minds
      • Group Stage: 17 to 20 April and 24 to 27 April 
      • Knockout Stage: 2 to 3 May
      • Major Last Call: 4th May
      • Prize pool: US$50,000  
  7. Honor of Kings Brazil Championship
    • Teams: Alpha7, Loops, Influence Rage, E1, Corinthians, Three more to be determined from Open Series Brazil Split 3.
      • Group Stage: 16 to 18 May and 22 to 25 May  
      • Playoffs: 31 May to 1 June and 7 to 8 June
      • Prize pool: US$20,000
