Blizzard Entertainment has outlined what Diablo 4 players can expect in 2025.
Blizzard has unveiled the first-ever Diablo 4 content roadmap, outlining its plans for the action-RPG in 2025 ahead of a second expansion launch in 2026. This year, three seasons are planned, each of which brings new gameplay mechanics and events to the game. New “collab IP” and earnable pets will also headline these seasons’ contents.
Diablo 4 unveils 2025 roadmap with three new seasons

Diablo 4 fans were recently informed that Blizzard’s annual expansion plans for the game are now a thing of the past. With Diablo 4’s next big expansion now set for 2026, the game will need a strong offering of content to keep players coming back this year. To that end, Blizzard has unveiled the first content roadmap for Diablo 4, briefly outlining its 2025 plans for seasonal updates, balance changes, and more.
Let’s break those plans down. From January to April, players will (or rather, were, given that the Season of Witchcraft is now winding down) get access to witchcraft powers, headhunts, occult gems, a raven pet, and permanent additions, like a new armory and quality of life updates for whispers.
Things will get interesting from April to July, when Season 8 makes its debut. In Season 8, Belial, the Lord of Lies will return to threaten peace in Sanctuary–not that there was any peace in there to begin with. Boss powers are coming, allowing with a new earnable feline pet, an apparition incursion, and several permanent additions. For example, Belial and two Vessel of Hatred bosses will become part of an updated Lair Boss system. A new crossover is also coming with a mystery IP.
From July to September, Blizzard plans to run the ninth season, Sins of the Horadrim. Players will get to mess around with Horadric powers in the usual seasonal quests, and try out new Nightmare Dungeon activities. Dungeons are being looked at for a potential rework this season, and a new pet is coming alongside keyboard and mouse support for consoles.
From September to December, players can check out the Season of Infernal Chaos; that is, Season 10 of Diablo 4. Here, players will swap Horadric powers for Chaos powers, and get new updates for Infernal Hordes. A new IP crossover is also coming to the game. We don’t know which franchises Diablo 4 plans to cross over with this year, only that the events will involve “universes that complement its dark themes.”
In 2026, Diablo 4 plans to add leaderboards, a new ranking system, and a follow-up expansion to Vessel of Hatred. Read more on these updates here.
