FromSoftware’s multiplayer Souls game is getting DLC.
Elden Ring Nightreign is officially getting post-launch DLC content. Game developer FromSoftware Inc. has accidentally let slip that its upcoming Elden Ring spin-off game will receive DLC playable characters and bosses some time after launch, via a now-removed Steam page description. The DLC will launch before the end of 2025, but no firm release date has been set, nor has its existence been officially confirmed.
Elden Ring Nightreign DLC leaked by Steam
Good news for Elden Ring fans: much like its predecessor, Elden Ring Nightreign will be getting post-launch DLC. While the scope of this DLC is currently unclear, we do know that the game will add new playable characters and enemies in the months to come. This news comes from a now-removed section of its Steam page description, which read:
Additional DLC - Additional playable characters and bosses.
The DLC is slated to arrive by Q4 2025, potentially launching within the end-of-year holiday season. No further details are known as of right now, and FromSoftware has not officially confirmed any DLC plans despite the leak. Instead, the developer has ended the game’s first network test, which ran over the weekend.
Sadly, the network test did not run flawlessly for fans jumping in to access its initial run. The game’s servers went down almost immediately, and the game proved inaccessible for many players for a large portion of the weekend. Eventually, FromSoftware extended the network test by a day to allow more players to try out the game. This final run of the test ran a little more smoothly.
Prior to this, the game’s Steam page went live and pre-orders were made available. The game will feature four playable characters known as Nightfarers, but we now know that its upcoming DLC will extend that roster by some margin. Early impressions also confirm that the game includes plenty of bosses, random events, and biomes, with more likely to come in due time.
Elden Ring Nightreign launches on 30 May, 2025.
