Metal Gear Solid x Ape Escape? It’s more likely than you think.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will apparently launch on 28 August, 2025, according to what appears to be a premature announcement on the PlayStation Store. Konami’s remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 had not revealed a release date yet, but this week, the game’s PlayStation Store page was suddenly updated with an official date and an all-new trailer.

Konami has yet to acknowledge the leak.

Metal Gear Solid 3 remake gets leaked release date

Konami’s remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 is a mere six months away, if we’re to take a recent PlayStation Store leak at face value. The PlayStation App’s store page for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was recently updated with a new unreleased trailer, which leaked the game’s release date along with additional gameplay footage.

As of now, the trailer has been taken down - but that hasn’t kept fans from re-uploading the video elsewhere online. It appears to be wholly legitimate, featuring all-new cinematics and gameplay footage from the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, including a better look at its antagonists.

Shockingly, the trailer also confirms that this remake is bringing back Snake vs. Monkey, a minigame featuring a crossover with the PlayStation franchise Ape Escape. In this minigame, Snake is tasked with capturing a group of monkeys running loose in the jungle using a ‘Monkey Shaker’ gun and stun grenades.

The trailer shows off this Ape Escape crossover before ending with text reading ‘and more’, suggesting that even more content from previous versions of Metal Gear Solid 3 will be included in this remake. As of now, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s PlayStation Store page has been updated to remove its 28 August, 2025 release date.

Konami is likely planning an official reveal for the game’s release date later - perhaps during an upcoming State of Play presentation?
