Call of Duty’s crossover with Squid Game is here, just in time for Season 2.
Netflix’s hit Korean drama Squid Game has returned with a sophomore run of new episodes, but that’s not all - the series is also tying into Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 with an all-new event. The event is set to kick off on January 3, 2024, with new cosmetics and events for Black Ops 6’s Multiplayer and Zombies, along with Warzone.
Call of Duty is crossing over with Squid Game in January 2025
Publisher Activision has unveiled a new trailer for Call of Duty’s upcoming crossover event with Squid Game, which is set to hit Black Ops 6’s multiplayer modes and Warzone at the start of the new year. The crossover also promises much more than the usual array of cosmetics.
The event brings a deadly new game mode to Call of Duty’s multiplayer arena as well. It's a spin on the childhood game “Red Light, Green Light” that was also widely used in Squid Game. It’s unclear how the mode works exactly, but its basic premise should stay the same as the series: you move, you die.
A few new Operators are also shown off in the Call of Duty x Squid Game 2 trailer. Players can don the tracksuits shown in the TV series, including both the contestants’ green tracksuits and the soldiers’ pink tracksuits. Several weapon blueprints will also be included, presumably taken from Squid Game Season 2.
According to the YouTube trailer’s video description, this crossover will include “new Squid Game Operators, Weapon Blueprints, Limited Time modes.” The Call of Duty x Squid Game crossover launches on January 3, 2024. Squid Game Season 2 is currently streaming on Netflix.
