Hoshimi Miyabi might be the most exciting agent introduced yet. Here are some tips on how you can maximise her.
The most anticipated agent in Zenless Zone Zero is here! Hoshimi Miyabi, the chief of Hollow Special Operations Section 6 is an ice anomaly agent who arrived in version 1.4, along with free S-rank agent Asaba Harumasa, who is also under her team.
Miyabi appeared in the closed beta version of the game before being fully introduced in early commissions, but was only released five months after ZZZ’s release. With one of the most hyped and well-rounded backstories and a unique kit, players have been waiting for months to pull for her.
What makes her special? As an ice anomaly agent, Miyabi possesses the Frost attribute, allowing her to deal significant damage. Her Frost DMG enhances her Anomaly buildup, and her overall DPS varies depending on the team composition she’s placed in.
Unlike many Anomaly agents introduced so far, Miyabi excels as a DPS character without requiring heavy investment in Anomaly-related stats. Her damage relies on the reactions generated on the field. That said, her Anomaly stats shouldn’t be overlooked—building her effectively can unleash her full DPS power and allow players to go further into the game’s more advanced content.
Here’s a quick guide on the best build for the Chief of Section 6.
Combat: How to play Miyabi
Miyabi is technically classified as an “Ice” agent that deals Ice damage, but her true attribute is Frost—which introduces three unique Ice anomalies: Freeze, Shatter, and Frostbite.
These anomalies build up on a separate gauge and can trigger Disorder even when applied alongside another Anomaly caused by the Frost attribute.
Frostbite and Frostburn
Inflicting Frostbite on an enemy inflicted with Icefire will result in the Frostburn—Break effect, which deals massive Ice DMG to them and puts them into the Frostburn state.
This will consume the Icefire and increase all of your party members' Anomaly Buildup Rate against the target.
Accumulating Fallen Frost
Fallen Frost will enable her to charge her Basic Attack and unleash a devastating attack on enemies in front of her. You can consume these Fallen Frost stacks by holding the Basic Attack button.
Here’s how to get Fallen Frost Stacks:
Miyabi will accumulate Fallen Frost through various means such as using her Ultimate, triggering Disorder with other party members, or triggering Frostburn—Break. She can have 6 stacks of Fallen Frost at maximum.
- Frostburn—1 stack
- EX Special Attack—2 Stacks
- Disorder—2 Stacks
- Ultimate—3 Stacks
Skill Prioritisation
Start by prioritising Miyabi's Core Skill, as it enhances her Frostburn DMG. Next, focus on upgrading her Basic Attacks, as these are a primary source of her damage, alongside the Core Skill.
Miyabi's Ultimate is highly powerful, so prioritise her Chain Attack once the Basic Attack is maxed out. Then focus on her Special attack to boost her damage output.
Her Assist isn’t a high priority, as it contributes little to her overall damage. You can upgrade dodge last since it has minimal impact on her kit.
Best Miyabi Build:
W-Engine:
Recommended: Hailstorm Shrine
CRIT DMG increases by 50%. When using an EX Special Attack or when any squad member applies an Attribute Anomaly on an enemy, the equipper's Ice DMG increases by 20%, stacking up to 2 times and lasting 15s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.
Alternative W-Engines:
- Fusion Compiler
- Electro-Lip Gloss
- Roaring Ride
- Weeping Gemini
Disc Drives
Recommended Set: Branch and Blade Song (4-pc) + Woodepecker Electro (2-pc)
Branch and Blade Song is Miyabi's best-in-slot Drive Disc since it provides her CRIT DMG, and increases her own DMG when any party member applies Freeze. Woodpecker Electro is her go-to 2-piece since she needs the CRIT Rate stat as a CRIT DPS.
Second-best set: Branch and Blade Song (4-pc) + Polar Metal (2-pc):
The second best option is Branch and Blade Song with Polar metal for more ice damage.
Best teams for Miyabi
Special Ops Section 6
- Miyabi—Damage, Anomaly
- Yanagi—Anomaly
- Soukaku—Support
- Or: Caesar—Defense
- Bangboo: Penguinboo
- Bangboo Alternatives: Sumoboo, Avocaboo
Miyabi’s team shines with Yanagi and Soukaku from Section 6. Soukaku buffs Miyabi’s Ice DMG and lowers Ice RES, while Yanagi’s energy regen with smoothen rotations.
Start by building two Fallen Frost stacks with Miyabi’s attacks. Then switch to Yanagi for two EX Special Attacks to trigger Disorder and add four more stacks. Then, switch to Soukaku for Quick Assist. Switching to Soukaku activates Quick Assist, boosting Miyabi’s ATK and enabling her charged attack at full stacks. Soukaku can also be replaced by Caesar for more survivability in certain situations.
Miyabi Disorder Team
- Miyabi—DMG/Anomaly
- Yanagi—Anomaly
- Rina—Support
- Bangboo: Agent Gulliver
- Bangboo Alternatives: Electroboo, Plugboo, Magnetiboo
Miyabi's best team consists of other Anomaly units since she needs Disorder to accumulate Fallen Frost stacks. Yanagi, in particular, is here to increase Disorder DMG and provide more Fallen Frost stacks through Disorder.
Miyabi Ice team
- Miyabi—Damage
- Soukaku
- Bangboo: Penguinboo
- Alternatives: Sharkboo, Knightboo
The Chief of HSOS 6 can also be part of a traditional DPS-Stun-Support team, with some members from the sons of Calydon. For this team, both Lycaon and Soukaku have the ice attribute, with Lycaon providing stuns and additional ice damage.
Miyabi Fire and Ice Team
- Miyabi—Damage/Anomaly
- Lighter—Stun
- Lucy—Support
- Caesar—Defense
- Bangboo: Red Moccus
- Bangboo Alternatives: Cryboo, Magnetiboo, Rocketboo
Another DPS-Stun-Support team composition will include Miyabi with some members from the sons of Calydon. Lighter can stun the enemy with his abilities, all while buffing Miyabi’s ice damage. Lucy will also be a great support for Miyabi as she will also increase Miyabi’s DPS power. Once again, you can replace Lighter or Lucy with Caesar on certain occasions (especially if you don’t have the Red Scarf) in case Miyabi needs more survivability.
Miyabi F2P Team
- Miyabi—Damage/ Anomaly
- Anby—Stun
- Soukaku—Support
- Bangboo: Penguineboo
- Bangboo Alternatives: Sumoboo, Avocaboo
If you don’t have all required agents, you likely have the Cunning Hares and Soukaku at the very least. Soukaku buffs Miyabi’s ice damage, while Anby can stun enemies and make it easy for Miyabi to finish them off. You can also substitute Anby for Nicole if you want to shred off enemy DEF.
