HoYoverse has officially revealed that Zenless Zone Zero version 1.2 “Tour de Inferno” will be released on September 25 in the version 1.2 preview livestream on Friday (September 13). In this update, players will expand their journey from New Eridu to the desolate Outer Ring, joining Caesar, Burnice, and the Sons of Calydon on an exciting motorcycle adventure.

Here’s a teaser for the version 1.2 update:
New content such as the arcade game Bizarre Brigade at Godfinger, along with several events including Overlord’s Feast, promises to add fresh entertainment to the urban fantasy ARPG. Version 1.2 also brings key optimisations, including updates to the TV mode, squad presets, and improvements to the time and stamina systems.
So much is happening for the upcoming patch so here’s everything you can expect for version 1.2:
Introducing the Outer Ring
The Outer Ring, an undeveloped zone on the outskirts of New Eridu, serves as the central stage for the upcoming story chapter.
Though barren and located near the desert wilderness, it is rich in fuel resources, a relic of the old civilisation when oil was vital for powering engines and machinery.
In the current era, Etheric matter has taken over as the main energy source, but the area's abundance of fuel still ignites competition among groups.
In Version 1.2, players will join forces with Caesar, Burnice, and other members of the Sons of Calydon for a high-stakes showdown against The Vanquishers and Overlord Pompey.
Players can also explore New Eridu as Caesar and Burnice. The Sons of Calydon, a key faction in the Outer Ring, runs "Leaps and Bounds," a logistics company that transports resources through the Hollows.
Character Banners for v1.2
With the theme centred around the outer ring, ZZZ have already teased two incoming agents from the same area, mainly Caesar King and Burnice White.
Caesar King is the leader of the Sons of Calydon faction. She is set to will be ZZZ’s first Physical Defense agent, armed with a sword and shield to take on her foes. Then we have Burnice White, who will be a Fire Anomaly-type character. A vibrant character who is the Outer Ring’s most popular mixologist, known for her drinks, especially Nitro Fuel.
And finally, the Sons of Calydon's S-Rank Bangboo Red Moccus is also eager to join the combat with a customized Bangboo motorcycle.
Players will also get an opportunity to practice their combat skills with characters from different factions for free, level up their Agents faster, and obtain rewards via a new gameplay called Investigator Training Course at HIA.

Chaos Jazz
- 2-Piece Set: Anomaly Proficiency +30
- 4-Piece Set: Fire DMG and Electric DMG is increased by 15%. When off-field, DMG dealt by [EX Special Attacks] and [Assist Attacks] is increased by 20%. When the character switches back onto the field, this buff continues for 5s. The lasting effect can be triggered once every 7.5s.
Proto Punk
- 2-Piece Set: Shield Effect + 15%
- 4-Piece Set: When any squad member triggers a Defensive Assist or Evasive Assist, all squad members deal 15% increased DMG, lasting 10s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
New Roguelike at Godfinger
Additionally, a time-limited survival shooting arcade game called "Bizarre Brigade" will be available at Godfinger. By advancing through this roguelike game, players can unlock different characters and use them to complete challenges.
New Game Mode
The Investigator Training Course is a new game mode that allows you to train as a Hollow Investigator as any of the agents that have already been released in the game. This game mode has four different courses.
Completing each course would give buffs tailored to different factions. After unlocking the tactical course, you can continue training by taking more tactical exercises and earn experience along the way.
Quality-of-life changes
Version 1.2 also introduces gameplay optimisations designed to improve the overall player experience.
Better TV Board experience
Players can now automatically acquire all Observation Data and rewards on the TV board with the help of FAIRY after completing the board once. This means you won’t need to go through the board over and over again, to make gameplay smoother.
Interactions for some common events have been adjusted, to cut down the close-up scenes overall, to make story progression smoother in Chapter 4. This is good news for those who just want to get straight into the action.
Preset lineups and Backup Battery Charges
Additional updates allow players to save preset lineups, and use Backup Battery Charges to boost stamina, which will be perfect for players who are very busy. While you’re away, batteries will keep charging as backup battery, which you can use up later.
Experience New Eridu as Belle or Wise--and Caesar and Burnice
In version 1.2, Proxies will get to explore New Eridu through the POV of Caesar and Burnice. You can also switch between Wise and Belle.
Once Proxies finish a certain amount of storyline in the game, they can move the clock to the time they desire, therefore avoiding the need to wait for the next step of the quest because of the time.
On top of this, one of the most requested features will be added in the upcoming versions. Version 1.4 will let Proxies explore the city as whatever agent they so like.
