The highly-anticipated turn-based strategy 4X sequel Civilization 7 is finally set to show off gameplay this month. Developer Firaxis Games has announced that the game will be present at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024 to drop a gameplay premiere, after which an official Civilization 7 gameplay showcase will be held with more than 20 minutes of developer commentary.

The next entry in the widely beloved 4X game franchise Civilization is finally getting a gameplay reveal this month. Publisher 2K and Firaxis Games have announced that this year’s Gamescom Opening Night Live ceremony will feature a first look at gameplay for Civilization 7. The ceremony will be once again hosted by The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley, kicking off the main event in Cologne, Germany.

Gamescom Opening Night Live will be livestreamed on August 20 at 11am PT, but don’t worry if you miss it. At 1.30am PT, 2K and Firaxis will also host a live Civilization 7 Gameplay Showcase on Twitch. The showcase will feature “more than 20 minutes of exclusive insights and deep dives across new features and innovations,” according to 2K Games.

Additionally, anyone who attends Gamescom in person from August 21 to 25 will be able to check out an official Civilization 7 booth at the event in Hall 6. Later this month, a Civilization 7 Pax Panel will also be held at PAX West, on August 31 at 11am PT. You can watch that panel live on Pax’s Twitch channel.
