Developer PocketPair has unveiled its plans for upcoming early access content in Palworld.
Palworld has unveiled its first official roadmap of upcoming early access content, including much-requested fixes for Pal AI and pathing, PvP content and more additions. While the roadmap is filled with improvements that should carry the game through the next few months of its highly-successful launch, the roadmap doesn’t include any dates - so we’re not sure how long it’ll take for these changes to be implemented.
Here’s the roadmap:
Palworld reveals its early access roadmap
Palworld, the survival game that has already sold six million copies on Steam and has Pokemon fans up in a tizzy, is currently in early access as developer PocketPair works towards a full launch. Players have noted multiple issues concerning Pal AI and pathing that don’t just break immersion, but prove frustrating when it comes to building structures and mining resources. Good news for those players: that’s getting fixed someday.
Yes, someday, because Palworld’s official roadmap of upcoming content doesn’t offer any dates to go with its promise of future fixes and additions. According to the roadmap, PocketPair is prioritising ‘critical issues’ like the world date suddenly experiencing rollbacks and semi-permanent loading screens. These fixes are likely coming up first, as the developer does its best to keep eight million copies’ worth of players happy.
After that, all eyes are on its planned future updates. These are:
- PvP
- Raid Bosses (End-Game Content)
- Pal Arena (PvP for Pals)
- Steam-Xbox Crossplay
- Various Xbox Feature Improvements
- Server Transfers and Migrations
- Improvements to the Building System
- New islands, Pals, Bosses, and Technologies
Interestingly, the game has not one, but two separate PvP modes in the works. Pal Arena is a gladiator-style mode that specifically lets your Pals duke it out with other players’ Pals in a small map, while the regular PvP mode just lets you attack players on your server. There are also some PvE raids coming up, potentially reworking the game’s existing dungeons to allow for more interesting combat scenarios culminating in a major Pal boss.
The rest of the changes are mainly aimed at fixing up the player experience - like server transfers and Xbox feature improvements - but there are also new islands, Pals, bosses and technologies in the works to keep players engaged with new in-game content. As Early Access rolls onward, expect the building system to be improved as well - though none of this is likely to come before the game’s ‘critical issues’ are fixed.
