The Hogwarts Legacy launch is near! Here's what you need to know in advance.
Developer Avalanche Software’s open-world fantasy RPG Hogwarts Legacy had been delayed to 2023 from its original release window in Holiday 2022. The Harry Potter game will now launch on February 10, 2023, for PlayStation 5, X Box Series X|S, and PC.
At this point, that is literally right around the corner (one week to be precise). In order to get the most out of your first weekend immersed in the game, here's how you can get ready!
Gameplay and Trailer
The new trailer expands on what has previously been revealed, giving fans more than two minutes of gameplay footage, set pieces, and storyline.
Hogwards Legacy will be a completely single-player experience and feature only PvE content. During the game, you will get drawn into conflict with Dark Wizards and investigate rumors of a goblin rebellion.
Experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. Make allies, battle Dark wizards, and decide the fate of the wizarding world.
Based on the trailer we can see that there will be plenty of combat opportunities, exploration of various hidden areas of Hogwarts, adventures on the grounds and even Hogsmeade village, and puzzles to solve in the Dungeon.
Estimates for the main storyline gameplay have been reported at about 35 hours with 70 hours estimated to complete all the quests and achievements.
Release dates
The Hogwarts Legacy release date is staggered across these dates:
- 10th February for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC
- 4th April for PS4 and Xbox One
- 25th July for Nintendo Switch
Preloading
Preloading the game will allow you to dive right in when the game is released.
Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to release on February 10 but if you pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition, you'll be able to get a headstart and begin playing 72 hours early.
