The new patch 7.12 brings in agent changes and a new TDM map.
Patch 7.12 was recently released and it featured skill changes and a new Team Deathmatch map. The patch highlights Gekko and Skye and some changes to their abilities. Drift, the new Team Deathmatch map, was inspired by Thailand and its floating markets.
Riot Games has recognized the lack of firepower from Gekko so they decided to buff some of his abilities. Gekko has a lower pick rate compared to other Initiators. His Wingman is pretty overpowered when it comes to a 1v1 situation wherein you can secure a defuse or a plant without being vulnerable. However, his kit was not at par with other Initiators such as Skye and Sova.
With the new patch, Gekko’s reclaim abilities were increased and Dizzy received a significant buff. Gekko players now have more time to engage in team fights.
Here are the detailed changes for Gekko:
Reclaim for Dizzy (E), Wingman (Q), and Thrash (X)
- Reduce reclaim channel time from 2s >>> 1s
Dizzy (E)
- Once Dizzy is ready to shoot and sees a target, they will shoot faster and the projectile will travel faster.
- Pre-fire targeting delay decreased from 0.5s >>> 0.35s
- Missile speed increased from 7000 to 10000
Skye’s changes were centered around her Trailblazer ability. Trailblazer’s explosion can now be cancelled mid-leap by destroying it.
Here are the detailed changes for Skye:
Trailblazer (Q)
- Camera movement is disabled during the leap.
- When the Trailblazer is destroyed during the leap, it no longer causes a concuss explosion.
- Trailblazer plays the destruction voice line when destroyed during the leap.
- Trailblazer explosion now concusses allies as well as enemies.
The newest Team Deathmatch map was also added to the map rotation of the game mode. A new feature called “Party Invite Codes” is added to the game. It will allow party leaders to generate a unique code that can be used to invite players to their lobby.
