VALORANT Mobile is currently region-locked to China, with pre-registrations now open.
Riot Games has officially opened pre-registration for VALORANT Mobile four years after announcing its mobile version. The announcement was made on Monday (21 April) during Tencent Spark 2025 and shared via the official VALORANT Mobile website.
To bring the game to life, Riot has partnered with Lightspeed Studios, the developers behind PUBG Mobile. The game will launch first in China, with global plans yet to be confirmed. A video announcement by the devs was also shared.
According to Anna Donlon, Head of VALORANT Studios, Riot chose Lightspeed for the project because from the first demo, the studio were able to "capture the essence of VALORANT like nobody else".
She also mentioned that the studio understood the game deeply, were in sync with Riot’s values, and would be able to deliver "the core experiences that make VALORANT special".
Ahead of the pre-registration phase, Riot had already run playtests in China and brought in top mobile FPS players from around the globe to prepare for launch. Eligible Chinese players can now sign up via the official site.
Pre-registration bonuses
Players in China who pre-register will be included in the upcoming playtest, which Riot says is arriving "very soon". Early signups will also receive Player Cards as a reward for joining the initial wave.
While the game is currently limited to Chinese players, its formal announcement and gameplay footage mark a significant step towards a wider rollout. For now, fans around the world can only wait—and keep climbing the ladder on PC—until VALORANT goes fully mobile.
