Fallout Season 2 will start streaming sooner than expected.
Amazon Prime Video has officially renewed its video game adaptation Fallout for a Season 3. The streaming service also announced that the series’ Season 2 will launch this December, sooner than the 2025 release window most were probably expecting. The series only just wrapped filming on Season 2 last week.
Fallout officially sets December 2025 date for Season 2 return
Amazon Prime video has set a launch window for Fallout Season 2: December 2025. The TV adaptation will then return just over a year after it was renewed (April 2024) to continue adapting the classic RPG franchise Fallout, with this upcoming season specifically centred on the events of Fallout: New Vegas.
Here’s Amazon’s synopsis of Season 2:
Season 2 will continue the story after Season 1’s finale, taking viewers through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.
Season 1 ended on quite the cliffhanger, with the Ghoul learning that his pre-apocalypse family might still be somewhere out there in the world, Lucy on the outs with her father, and Maximus due for a promotion in the Brotherhood of Steel. Lucy’s father Hank flees to New Vegas, while Lucy and the Ghoul head out on a road trip together.
Additionally, Fallout has officially been renewed for Season 3 ahead of its Season 2 debut, in a likely signal of Amazon’s confidence in the series’ continued success. After all, Fallout’s first season scored a whopping 16 Emmy nominations, though it only won two out of those 16.
Amazon MGM Studios’ global head of television Vernon Sanders had this to say about the announcement:
“We are absolutely thrilled that our global Prime Video customers will be able to delve deeper into the wonderfully surreal and captivating world of ‘Fallout’. Jonah, Lisa, Geneva, and Graham have done an exceptional job bringing this beloved video game franchise to vivid life on Prime Video. Together with our amazing partners at Bethesda Games and Bethesda Softworks, we are delighted to announce a third season of ‘Fallout,’ well ahead of the much-anticipated debut of Season Two.”
