Skirk is a mysterious figure whose story will change the course of the game.
Genshin Impact has announced a new playable character coming to Version 5.7: Skirk! First visually introduced during the Fontaine Archon Quest, Skirk is a mysterious figure whose existence has been known since the game's earlier patches.
Now that she’s finally entering the game as a playable character, her arrival will mark a shift in Genshin Impact’s story as we finally come closer to the wintery landscape of Nod-Krai, the area we will arrive in before Schneznaya.
Skirk will most likely feature prominently in Version 5.7’s storyline.
The Fatui Harbinger Tartaglia, more known as Childe, credits Skirk as his combat teacher and master when he fell into the Abyss as a child.
Besides being Childe’s master, Skirk is also known as a disciple to Surtalogi The Foul–the owner of the All-Devouring Narwhal found in the Primordial Sea and one of the Five Sinners of Khaenri’ah. It’s not known what role Skirk played during the fall of Khaenri’ah or if she ever was involved, but her knowledge about the mysterious “Third Descender” and the existence of the Dragon Sovereigns can potentially affirm that she’s lived a longer life than we have assumed so far. It’s also been confirmed that time moves differently for Skirk.
It was revealed during our encounter with her that Skirk has spent much, if not all, of her time battling monsters in the Abyss. Childe holds her with much respect, and sees her as exceptionally skilled as a swordswoman, but also notes her cold and distant attitude. He credits her for his fighting prowess, though Skirk can only see him as weak and incomparable to her abilities.
Skirk will most likely hold a 5-star rarity, and is confirmed to wield the Cryo element. Although no confirmation for her weapon preference has been revealed, it’s safe to assume that since she’s seen wielding a sword, she will be a sword user.
