Popular sci-fi multiplayer shooter Warframe is coming to iOS in 2024 with all expansions and add-on content intact.

Digital Extremes’ sci-fi multiplayer shooter Warframe is officially coming to mobile platforms in 2024. The developer made the announcement during its annual convention TennoCon 2023, with pre-registration now open for iOS devices. Warframe Mobile was first announced in 2021, and has since opened up a public beta for bug fixes and testing.

A specific 2024 release date was not shared, but players can now expect the addictive looter-shooter to hit mobile platforms sometime in the next year. Existing Warframe players can carry their progress between iOS platforms and other versions of the game - but only when cross-save gets added to the game later this year. As for how much of the game’s content will be available for mobile platforms, Digital Extremes’ FAQ reads:

Warframe for iOS was conceived and developed as another way to play the full game. It is the entire, interconnected console experience on mobile with optional cross-progression and cross-play between all other platforms. Players will have access to all of the same great gameplay and story content seen in every other version and will be able to squad up seamlessly with players on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch and PC.

What that means is that Warframe Mobile won’t be separate from the base game like the now-dead Apex Legends Mobile. Instead, it’s the full game minus platform-exclusive cosmetics tied to services like PlayStation Plus, and thus shouldn’t be left behind when it comes to the release of future expansions and additional content. Some have noted lower graphical fidelity than expected in the iOS beta, but that is to be expected with a mobile port.

Warframe Mobile will launch in 2024 for iOS platforms, but there is sadly no word on an Android port yet.
