MPL MY returns with Season 13 this weekend

While MPL PH and ID are already in full swing, this week we will also be paying attention to Malaysia, as Season 13 kicks off its Regular Season for the region.

For the past few weeks, we have had the pleasure of enjoying the Mobile Legends Professional League returning to us from both Indonesia and the Philippines. While we have seen some of the best teams from those regions beginning their Season 13 journey, this coming weekend we have the return of Malaysia too, giving us even more Mobile Legends: Bang Bang to enjoy – this time with a few new teams and some newly branded ones too.

MPL MY Season 13 comes to us with two new teams in the form of Monster Vicious and Bountee Esports – while NINERS is the rebranded version of MPX NSEA. Barracuda Esports and King Empire also join as new organisations, having acquired their spots from Team Lunatix and Team SMG, respectively. With two spots to play for at the Mid-Season Cup (MSC) which will see it move to an international stage as it becomes part of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh. Saudi Arabia later this year.

The full list of teams beginning their MPL MY Season 13 Regular Season run this weekend is:

Fikri Rizal Mahruddin, Head of Marketing and Business Development at MOONTON Games, had the following to say on MPL MY’s thirteenth season kicking off:

"MPL Malaysia has come a long way to become the leading competitive esports ecosystem in Malaysia, but there is still much to do this year to achieve our vision of making #EsportsForEveryone. Through close discussion and collaboration with knowledge experts and regulatory stakeholders, we continue to explore new and innovative opportunities for Malaysians to experience and benefit from esports."

One of the biggest aspects of MPL MY which continues to see it shine is the fact that it offers free admission to all fans attending the event, if seating allows. With HomeBois looking to take another strong victory after breaking national transfer records in bringing in Udil from ID team Alter Ego Esports, this season is weighing up to be an amazing one for MPL MY.
