Over the past few days, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang professional community, especially those in Malaysia, has been abuzz about an ongoing issue with Team Lunatix. Just a few days ago, on August 11, Team Lunatix made an announcement via their Facebook account which stated that they three new Myanmar representatives (Kid, Zippy, and DJ), had departed from the roster. The post went on to add that two of these three players were still under contract to the team – and that remunerations were paid to the players. Today, shortly prior to the MPL MY Season 12 kicking off, the MPL MY committee has made a follow-up announcement regarding the situation.

According to the commitee, as can be seen in the image above, both ZIPPY and Kid had both departed from the roster and returned home without letting the team’s management know of their reasoning. The follow up states that both players must fulfil their contractual obligations, as they are still under contract from Team Lunatix and may not play for any other team in any official MLBB esports events. This means that both players must now return to Malaysia for the start of the season, which begins on Friday, August 18, 2023.

The announcement went on to add that DJ, while leaving the team, had no violations against him as the two parties came to a contractual agreement. In the same boat, Lunatix themselves have found themselves with an official warning due to them having delayed the reimbursement of its players for various expenses – which, in turn, is part of their contractual agreements.

At the end of the day, we will all be keeping a close eye on Team Lunatix in MPL MY Season 12, as the two players now being required to play could cause further issues down the line. We hope that this is not the case, as Lunatix played valiantly in Season 11 to finish in fourth place.
