The M3 World Championship is the biggest tournament of the year for both Montoon and its most popular title to date, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. With the group stages now done and dusted, M3 is now in its playoff stage, which is slated to begin tomorrow. The playoff bracket starts on the 11th of December with the grand finals happening on the 19th of December. It's a double-elimination bracket, featuring the top 16 teams in MLBB.
This year's M3 is shaping up to be the best one yet with many underlying plot points to look forward to. One of the biggest would be Onic Esports from Indonesia and their uphill battle from the loser's bracket. Being the MPL ID Season 8 champions, you would've expected them to breeze through the group stage but that was far from the case. For Southeast Asia as a whole, the has six out of the eight teams in the upper bracket. This goes to show just how big MLBB is within SEA.
However, it is the Philippines who are leading the charge with both teams pulling through to the upper bracket. Blacklist International and Onic Philippines finished in first of their respective groups with the former going undefeated. There are also teams like RRQ Hoshi from Indonesia (who were the runner-ups in MPL ID Season 8 but ended up performing far better than their native counterparts) and EVOS SG of Singapore who also finished their group stage undefeated, which goes to show how high the level of competition currently is in MLBB.

Editor's Predictions
This year's M3 is looking to be the most open contest in its iteration with many teams capable of taking the world championship. Onic Esports has been one of the favourites of the tournament and yet, they have underperformed so far. It will be an uphill climb for them from the lower bracket but if anyone can do it, it's them. But if we had to pick two grand finalists, it will be between Blacklist International and RRQ Hoshi. The Season 8 winners of MPL PH have been in fine form, losing only two games throughout the entire season, one during the regular season and one in the playoffs.
As for RRQ Hoshi, they have been one of Indonesia's best teams for quite some time now but have never won a world championship despite making it to the grand finals in M1. They also had a third-place finish at M2 so they will be hoping to replicate their past performances with another top-three finish.
