The server merge is expected to improve matchmaking experience.

League of Legends (LoL) developer Riot Games have announced the consolidation of some servers in Southeast Asia, which include Thailand, Philippines, and Singapore/Malaysia/Indonesia.

The server merge will take place on January 9, 2025 in Patch 15.1, where players from the said regions should expect server downtime similar to patch releases, which should last four hours. This is the same patch where Season 2025 kicks off, picking up from where Arcane left off and going into the new Seasonal Model.

Riot made the announcement on Tuesday (26 November), saying this was done to “create the best possible experience for every game” with the goal of bringing more players across regions together.

This has been long requested move by fans in the Southeast Asia region. With the server merge, it’s expected that the matchmaking experience in the region would improve to be faster and more accurate. And with a centralised server infrastructure, players can also expect smoother, low-latency gameplay.

What will be transferred to the merged server?

Most details and items from your account will be transferred seamlessly to the merged SEA server, ensuring minimal disruption. This includes your Riot ID, Remaining RP, Champion skins and ward skins, Friend list, Hidden MMR Value (adapted to the new region), Summoner Level, Honour Level, Emotes, Rune Pages, Summoner Icons, XP boosts, BE Balance, Hextech Crafting Inventory, Champion Mastery Levels, Player stats, Loading Screen borders, item sets, Eternals Progress, Challenges Progress, Mission Progress, Loot Milestone Progress, Event Pass Progress, Clash Trophies, Clash Banners, and Clash Flag Frames.

However, some items will not be transferred, including  Victory points, forum badges, Clash match history from the Thailand and Philippines servers, as well as Clash club affiliations from those aforementioned regions. Players should take note of these exclusions as they prepare for the transition.
