What to watch this week - LCK and LPL coverage

The Eastern region is on full display this week as the LCK and LPL resumes its Spring split games.

Only two regions will be live this week as the LCK and LPL are back with its regular programming after the Lunar New Year celebrations. However, the LPL will only be going live from Thursday to Sunday every week while the LCK only starts every Wednesday. But with that said, there are still plenty of exciting games from both regions to look forward to.

As for the LCS, it's currently on its mid-season break with no games to come from North America until March. The same can also be said for the LEC, who just finished its Winter Split and will be taking a few weeks off before the start of its Spring Split. This is to determine who will join G2 Esports at the Mid-Season Invitational later this year.

Both the LCK and LPL are still some ways away from reaching the next stage of its respective Spring splits. And as it stands, T1 and Gen.G Esports are currently tied for first in the LCK with KT Rolster and Hanwha Life Esports close behind. In the LPL, Bilibili Gaming are currently in the lead with the likes of Ninjas in Pyjamas and Invictus Gaming still within touching distance.

LCK Spring Split

Overall, there are plenty of exciting games to look forward to from the LCK with at least one highly-anticipated series per day this week. This Wednesday's match-up between Hanwha Life and KT will be an enticing match-up given both teams are third and fourth respectively. On Thursday, Dplus KIA's series against FearX will also help determine who will move on up in the table as the former's next game after that is against DRX while FearX will be playing Gen.G.

Saturday's spicy series will feature T1 and KT, two teams that are currently on the rise at the moment. If KT and T1 are to win their matches on Wednesday, the weekend showdown could set the tone on who takes the lead in the LCK. Both Kwangdong Freecs and OKSavingsBank BRION will have a double-header this week as they will play one another on Friday and Sunday.

LPL Spring Split

We're currently in the fourth week of the LPL Spring Split and as it stands, it's Bilibili Gaming that still remains undefeated with five wins in a row. BLG has two games this week, first against third-place Invictus Gaming that isn't live-streamed and a tantalising series against JD Gaming this weekend. And with BLG having two difficult games to come, this is Ninjas in Pyjamas' chance to try to snatch a lead as they have some fairly easy opposition against last-placed EDward Gaming as well as mid-table LNG Esports.
