Ninjas in Pyjamas Roster Update

Ninjas in Pyjamas bring on one of the best LPL midlaners to its ranks

Ninjas in Pyjamas have brought in one of the LPL's best midlaners alongside three fresh faces to the roster.

The LPL Spring Split 2024 starts in a few weeks with more and more teams finalising its roster leading up to the new year. Ninjas in Pyjamas is one of those teams after it signed four new players to its roster. This includes one of the LPL's best midlaners in Eui-jin “Rookie” Song.

That's not all though as he will be joined by one of the best rookies in the LPL last season, toplaner Deng “shanji” Zijian as well as jungler Mao “AK” An. Lastly, it will be the former coach, Yoon "Zero" Kyung-sup who will be taking up the sixth-man role as the substitute jungler.

Having retired as a player in the jungler role, Zero took over V5's head coach position and had worked with Rookie during his time with the org in the 2022 season. Lastly, there are the two existing players like AD carry Ying “Photic” Qi-Shen and support player Xu-Zhou “Zhou” Wang.

With Rookie being the only Korean on the team alongside Zero, he is also the only person to have lifted a Summoner's Cup during his time with Invictus Gaming back in 2018. While iG have digressed over the years, Rookie have since gone on to establish himself as one of the best in the business in the LPL.

NiP will be looking to the level of experience and skill he can bring to the table in a bid to bring the team to new heights after it acquired Victory Five in 2021. The LPL will be looking to get back to the pinnacle of international prestige after having all four teams in the Worlds 2023 playoff bracket, only for none of them to lift it at the end.

Their run this season saw them finish 13th in the Spring Split, which meant that they didn't even get past the group stage in its first year back after a five-year hiatus. However, NiP's progress was on full display during the Summer Split where it knocked out three-time Mid-Season Invitational champions, Royal Never Gives Up in the first round of the playoffs.
