In a shocking move that nobody saw coming, Riot Games has announced that they will be introducing creep deny into the League of Legends game mechanics.
This has been a long-standing debate between Dota 2 and LoL fanatics. Given how you're denying your opponent gold and exp, it can have a detrimental effect heading later into the game. And that's not all; there's more.
Not only will you be able to deny minions, but you can now deny towers as well. This will have drastic effects on the economy of the game as well as shifting lane momentum.
With LoL being out for 11 years now, it would make sense to introducing a ground-breaking mechanic into a game that has been around for slightly over a decade now.
Riot Games' decision to include creep deny into its game mechanics will be one that is talked about for months to come. Does this mean that the game is slowly heading in the direction that Dota 2 follows? We certainly hope not. Of course, it does remain to be seen if that will be the case moving forward. It will certainly change the way we view and play the game once the update drops and there will be pitchforks at the ready.
But that is the beauty of a MOBA title; you have to learn, adapt, and grow or else you'll get left behind.
