ZZZ is officially coming to Xbox, and this time, it's not an April Fool's joke.
HoYoverse has confirmed that its fast-paced action RPG, Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ), is coming to Xbox consoles, with an upcoming livestream set to reveal the release window and more details about the launch.
The announcement was made on ZZZ’s official Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) accounts:
The stream will air on Saturday (12 April) 1:00 AM SGT, or Friday (11 April) 10:00 AM PST. Fans can watch the stream on ZZZ’s official YouTube and Twitch accounts.
Not an April Fool’s joke
Zenless Zone Zero first teased an Xbox release through an April Fool’s post on 1 April. The image features a Bangboo named XBOO, designed as if it were part of the game’s Bangboo Signal Search. The unit is apple green—matching Anby’s colour palette—with a black-and-white Xbox logo on its belly. Notably, the tips of its ears display the X and B buttons from the Xbox controller. XBOO is housed in a clear display case with an apple-green base, positioned beside a cartoon depiction of what appears to be an Xbox controller.
The caption teased a limited-time release of the S-Rank Bangboo XBOO as part of the “An Outstanding Partner” event, available on the Bangboo Channel following the X Version update. It also noted that players can select a guaranteed S-Rank Bangboo before starting a Signal Search, with the guarantee system exclusive to the Bangboo Channel. The post closed with a welcome to New Eridu and a cheeky launch date of 30 February, 2222.
Xbox’s official X (formerly Twitter) account also responded to the tweet, saying, “We dare you to do it.”
While some believed a collaboration was underway or that ZZZ was indeed coming to Xbox, many others dismissed it as an April Fool’s joke, as intended, especially since the release date indicated was February 30, 2222.
With the official announcement now live and a livestream on the way, it turns out HoYoverse really did have plans in motion. Zenless Zone Zero is officially coming to Xbox—and with “exciting new updates” teased alongside the platform reveal, there may be more in store than just a console port.
