Steam Next Fest has returned this year, giving players free access to thousands of game demos.

Valve’s triannual digital demo event, Steam Next Fest, has officially gone live this week. The event will offer thousands of free game demos on its platform for everyone to try. It will run until October 21 at 10 a.m. PT and will also feature dozens of live streams from game developers as they preview upcoming games for interested players.

This iteration of Steam Next Fest has tons of interesting game demos for players to check out, such as the upcoming MOBA Supervive, and so much more.

Steam Next Fest 2024 officially goes live with tons of free demos

Valve’s game demo event Steam Next Fest goes live three times a year, giving game developers a chance to show off their new and upcoming projects to Steam users everywhere. For players, it’s a slam dunk - who wouldn’t jump at the chance to try out thousands of upcoming games for free? The only problem is figuring out what you want to play first.

There’s a little something for everyone in this month’s iteration of Steam Next Fest. For example, digital card game enthusiasts might want to check out Knights in Tight Spaces, a tactical deckbuilding game that follows up on Fights in Tight Spaces. This medieval game has players engage in action-packed fight sequences by building a deck of action cards.

MOBA enthusiasts can also check out a demo for Supervive: a hero shooter, battle royale and MOBA hybrid. The game is developed by a team of ex-League of Legends, Overwatch, VALORANT, Destiny and Halo developers. The game’s map is designed to be a large open-ended sandbox for players to explore and create the perfect build, while also hunting other players down.

There’s also Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, a tabletop-inspired RPG that follows up on its critically-acclaimed predecessor. Players step into the shoes of an android on the run with a malfunctioning body, a bounty on their head and severe amnesia. They’ll have to get a ship, build up a crew, and collect contracts in the vast space.

These are just three game demos out of the thousands available in Steam Next Fest this month, so be sure to check it out for even more interesting finds. The event ends on October 21.
