Xtreme Gaming tweak Dota 2 roster, sign Tian ming to replace Undyne

Xtreme Gaming continues to tweak its Dota 2 roster by signing a new position 5 support player.

Chinese Dota 2 team Xtreme Gaming (XG) has announced an adjustment to its roster, parting ways with position 5 support player Qiancheng “Undyne_” Li and welcoming the veteran Jiang “天命 (Tian ming)” An as his replacement. This marks tian ming's second time joining XG following a brief stint with the team from October to November 2024.

Xtreme Gaming’s Dota 2 roster now stands as follows:

  1. Wang “Ame” Chunyu
  2. Hongcheng “Xm” Guo
  3. Jing “Xxs” Lin
  4. Zixing “XinQ” Zhao
  5. Jiang “天命 (Tian ming)” An
  6. Ning “xiao8” Zhang (coach)

XG has taken drastic steps to restructure its Dota 2 roster, initially re-grouping some of the biggest remaining stars in the Chinese scene in Wang “Ame” Chunyu, Jing “Xxs” Lin, Zixing “XinQ” Zhao, and coach Ning “xiao8” Zhang in early March. This massive roster change also led to the team giving up their slot in the upcoming million-dollar event, ESL One Raleigh 2025, with the slot later being given to another Chinese team in Team Tidebound instead.

The changes appear to be paying off, at least for now. The revamped lineup instantly delivered improved performance, achieving a Top 6 placement in PGL Wallachia Season 3, a clear improvement compared to their previous results, which ranged from mediocre to bottom-ranked placements.

However, XG seems determined to push further, as the team continues to make adjustments, with Tian ming now replacing Undyne in the roster.

Tianming rejoins Xtreme Gaming

In contrast to Undyne’s fresh talent, Tian ming is expected to bring a wealth of experience to the team. With over a decade spent in the competitive scene, Tian ming has established himself as one of the most notable position 5 players in China and competed with some of the region's most legendary organisations, including EHOME, Team Aster, and Azure Ray.

The 29-year old is most recognized for his standout performances with Azure Ray. He helped the team achieve a Top 4 finish at The International 2023, and also secured a victory at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 in the same year.

Before joining XG, Tian ming played with Yakult Brothers alongside  Ame. However, their two-month stint together yielded more modest results, with their best achievement being a Top 6 finish at BLAST Slam II.

XG has pulled out the big guns in preparation for the second half of the season, assembling some of the Chinese region’s most renowned players. The team's new lineup is set to debut at PGL Wallachia Season 4, which kicks off on 19 April.
