Atlus’s upcoming JRPG “Metaphor: ReFantazio” has released a free demo of its October 11 release date.

Metaphor: ReFantazio’s free demo will allow interested players to play through the beginning of the game, and any game data you have saved will be carried over once the game officially launches.

Lauded as the result of Atlus’s 35-year journey of producing hit RPGs like Shin Megami Tensei and the Persona series, Metaphor: ReFantazio features a high-stakes story taking place in the mediaeval fantasy realm of the United Kingdom of Euchronia — which acts as a “mirror” to the modern real world.

Metaphor: ReFantazio’s story begins with the assassination of its King sparking chaos and unrest, as well as the crown prince falling to an unknown curse, a tournament to decide the throne’s successor and future wielder of unique magic known as the Royal Magic will be held across the world.

Players will take on the role of the main protagonist, a boy of the Elda tribe who has been ostracised by society for having inherited “forbidden magic”. Accompanied by a fairy companion named Gallica, will the boy be able to lift the curse placed upon the crown prince of Euchronia and reach his own destiny?

Metaphor: ReFantazio’s free demo is available on the Xbox Series X|S, Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Steam stores, with all content available permitted to be shared on social media platforms for personal non-commercial use by participating players. Do avoid posting spoilers, though!

Metaphor: ReFantazio is currently up for pre-ordering, which includes the Digital Standard Edition and the Atlus Brand 35th Digital Anniversary Edition. The game will launch on October 11, 2024.
