After months of waiting and hype, Outlanders patch has finally dropped and it's a big game-changer.
Patch update 7.22 was introduced in May 2019 and has been with us ever since. For six months, players competed and ranked with only balance changes sprinkled in for fun. Not only was TI9 played on the patch, but the first set of DPC 2019-2020 season events were too. Some claimed the game felt stale by the time the Major rolled around, most were ready for changes.
Patch update 7.23, or aka Outlanders, has arrived bringing with it 2 new heroes, 62 new items, neutral buildings, personal couriers, map re-work and more. Essentially, welcome to Dota 3.
The drop comes only 2 (yes TWO) days before the DreamLeague Season 13 Major and WePlay! Bukovel Minor open qualifiers kick-off and five days before the closed qualifiers begin which will determine the 23 teams that will attend the second Minor and Major of the season. Teams will be training hard and learning the new game in the next few days.
The open qualifiers will see teams like PSG.LGD, Team Secret, Nigma esports and OG competing and that means some interesting first official games are expected to happen. Many believe that this will even level the playing field, allowing a higher chance for lesser-known teams to knock out the favorites during the unforgiving best-of-one open qualifier brackets.
