Gpk had previously been on BetBoom's inactive roster after taking a break from competitive play.
Eastern European Dota 2 powerhouseBetBoom Team announced on Monday (January 7) that Danil “gpk” Skutin has returned to the main roster after taking a break from competitive play last September. With gpk returning to become BetBoom's mid laner once again, Gleb “kiyotaka” Ziryanov has been benched.
Following their 7th-8th place finish in The International (TI) 2024, BetBoom overhauled its roster in September 2024 by acquiring kiyotaka, Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko, and Vladislav “Kataomi`” Semenov while gpk and Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek took breaks from competitive play.
Since that roster overhaul, BetBoom surged to become one of the strongest teams in the scene, ending 2024 with Top 3 finishes in BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 and ESL One Bangkok 2024, a second place finish in DreamLeague Season 24, and the organisation's first-ever tournament victory in Dota 2 at BLAST Slam I.
Gpk's return to BetBoom's main roster should help the team rise to TI contender status for 2025, if their recent results prove to be a trend. Aside from being one of the best mid laners in Europe, gpk also brings experience and roster continuity with his return, having been with BetBoom since December 2022.
BetBoom, with gpk back in the fold, are set to play in their first tournament of 2025 in DreamLeague Season 25, which will take place from February 16 to March 2.
BetBoom Dota 2 roster for 2025:
- Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko
- Danil “gpk” Skutin
- Matvey “MieRo” Vasyunin
- Vitalie “Save-” Melnic
- Vladislav “Kataomi`” Semenov
