The seeding for the group stages of the closed qualifiers for the Major in Chongqing, China have been revealed, and the competition looks fierce.

The first round of the Minor/Major has concluded and we are already in the midst of the chaos of the newly released 7.20 patch. With both the Bucharest Minor and Chongqing Major announced, teams are formulating new plans and trying to make sense of the update that will soon determine the meta of the game. Four teams directly invited to the closed qualifiers and four teams who have fought their way through the open qualifiers will be competing in the closed qualifiers for each of the six regions.

The qualifiers will be held from the 25th to 27th of November for Southeast Asia, CIS and South America. And for Europe, North America and China they will last from the 28th to 30th of November.

Perhaps the most exciting news for fans was OG's presence at the Major, which they confirmed not long ago. Although they will most likely be playing with a stand-in, after Anathan "ana-" Pham's decision to step down as an active member of the squad. This is also Team Liquid's opportunity to qualify for their first Major of the season, after their decision to drop out of the Dreamleague Season 10 Minor, and thus a shot at the Kuala Lumpur Major.

The competition looks rough for the other regions as well, with Virtus.pro, winners of the Kuala Lumpur Major, looking to dominate the CIS qualifiers, while a host of new and well-known teams set to fight in the North American qualifiers.

This will also be Mineski's first shot at qualifying for a Major this season after their reshuffle. They failed to qualify for the first Minor/Major pair of the DPC, but look to redeem themselves and showcase their talent at the highest level of competition for professional Dota 2.

Similarly, it is set to be the first tournament qualifier for the team formerly known as Pain X. The squad recently left the organization and made a change in their position 5 player, the impact of which fans will be able to witness very soon.

At least two teams from each region will qualify to the Main Event of the Major, though it has not yet been revealed as to which regions will get one of the extra three slots. Considering the format for the DPC this season, the winner of the Minor paired with the Chongqing Major, which is the Bucharest Minor 2019, will get a slot straight to the tournament as well.
