Evil Geniuses have clinched the last LAN title of the Pro Circuit 2017-2018 season before The International 8 after sweeping through Fnatic 3:0 in the grand finals of the Summit 9.
The boys in blue are back to prove that they have found their synergy and are ready to take on the world's best at The International 8 in only two weeks.
After completing the group stage with a first-place ranking and 7:3 record, Evil Geniuses dominated the playoff brackets with an undefeated run.
One 16 minute knockout and another 35-minute crushing victory over VGJ.Storm advanced the North American giants into the grand finals. There they took on Fnatic who had been having a touch and go journey at the event, some shaky games dotted with some outstanding plays and performances.
Although the first matchup took over 50 minutes to close out, all three games were heavily one-sided in favor of Evil Geniuses. Their championship title never really seemed to be in question as their form and strategies always seemed to be on point. Overpowering their opponents in Los Angeles will give the team some momentum going into TI8 as they aim to make history by taking home the Aegis twice.
Fnatic, VGJ.Storm, OpTic Gaming, and paiN Gaming have enough time to retool their strategy and approach, reset their mentality and use the insight they gained at BTS Summit 9 to find the recipe for success.
BTS Summit X
Celebrating the 10th iteration of the Summit series, BTS also released the trailer for the next event to be held in December. The next tournament for the Los Angeles based studio will not be part of the Dota Pro Circuit.
