Few days ago, in an interview with GameFy.cn's Leilani Crimson, Team DK's star support player, Zhang 'LaNm' Zhicheng announced that he will be retiring after The International 2014 as a Dota 2 player. Today, he officially confirms his retirement.
Zhang 'LaNm' Zhicheng, the pillar of the Chinese juggernaut Team DK, in an interview with Leilani Crimson has announced his intentions on retiring after The International 2014 as a player from Dota 2 scene. Following in the footsteps of Benedict 'hyhy' Lim and Jacob 'Maelk' Toft-Andersen, LaNm said that this year's International will be his last competition.
Lanm mentions on his Weibo, "With DK, last year was the most exciting in the first half of my life. Shoutout to my most trusted carry, the two strongest solos and my understanding partner, coach and fans. Thank you for accompanying me to the end of my career. @BurNIng @DK_iceiceice @Mushi @Pennytang. The recent news were false, and after I return home I am willing to share the wonderful year we have had in DK with all of the loving and supportive fans."
LaNm will be leaving behind a rich history post his retirement, and will fondly be remembered for his immense contribution towards the growth of the Dota scene as a player. Besides, he will also be remembered for being a part of the legendary Ehome team who discovered the Tiny-Wisp combo during The International 2012.
That being said, DK is now down to four members and as per the rumour mill Burning and MMY are heavily contemplated on retiring as well.
