The undefeated queens of APAC.

Team SMG is your VCT 2023: Game Changers APAC Open 1 champion after the Singapore-based organisation went undefeated during the entirety of the recently concluded tournament. It featured eight of the best all-female VALORANT teams in a double-elimination, best-of-three format. With that win, Team SMG walked away with $3,500 as well as 100 Circuit Points.

These points will go a long way towards the team's chances of securing a slot at the Game Changers APAC Elite, which is expected to take place sometime in October this year. Having already won the Game Changers APAC Open 1, Team SMG will be looking to build on its current momentum and carry it forward in future tournaments.

With the APAC Open 1 being the team's first VCT league victory, they did so in some style, taking out some of the best female teams in the tournament. This includes two teams from India Global Esports Phoenix and Orangutan Female, Indonesian team RRQ Kaguya, as well as Thai squad Sapphire.

Team SMG also showed great prowess on multiple maps during the tournament, particularly Haven and Pearl, which the team won in the first round against GE Phoenix and the upper bracket finals versus RRQ Kaguya. Lotus was another map that Team SMG showed great movement and execution in, having played the map twice in the tournament.

The VCT 2023: Game Changers APAC Open 2 is expected to take place from 1st - 11th June with another $10,000 total prize pool and more Circuit Points up for grabs. Team SMG will be vying for a second victory, having already gotten a taste of what it means to win. As for the rest of the APAC region, they will have to put in a lot more work if they're hoping to catch Team SMG.
