It was a quick day today at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup 2024, with the second semi-final ending in only three games. After Falcons Ap.Bren took a commanding 3-1 victory over Liquid ECHO on July 12th, and July 13th saw Ninjas in Pyjamas Flash go up against Selangor Red Giants. The Singaporean champions were ready to take their region farther than ever before at the event, but SRG had other plans, with a 104-day unbeaten streak to keep up.
The Giants look to claim glory
There was definitely something special about Selangor Red Giants at MSC 2024, and it was not just their unbeaten run. Although it had been 104 days since their last defeat in a series, the Malaysian squad were faced with an extremely tough challenger in the semi-finals. NiP Flash were looking as though they could be title contenders, but that was not the case when they had to face up against the MY champions.
While picking completely out of the meta, as heroes such as Chip, Roger, and even Moskov were banned, SRG decided to change things up with the likes Alpha and Phoveus. This seemed to be exactly what they needed, as NPFL struggled to get to terms with their opponents. SRG dominated, even when the Land of Dawn was split almost evenly in kills – and they left no room for their opponents to have anything and pummelled them into elimination.
And with that, the Grand Finals of MSC 2024 were set, with Falcons AP.Bren ready to take on Selangor Red Giants in the best-of-seven battle on July 14th. While SRG were the champions of their region at MPL MY Season 13, Bren need to work a bit harder after dropping MPL PH Season 13 to Liquid ECHO. However, after a brilliant showing in their semi-final, anything could happen. For SRG, the pressure is on to take MY to the top of MSC 2024, while Bren look to complete their trophy hall with the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
