GosuGamers sat down with Jeymz from Twisted Minds PH and talked about his return to MPL Philippines after his stint in Indonesia.
Saudi Arabia-based organisation Twisted Minds PH shocked the world of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) with their entry into the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Philippines alongside
Team Falcons PH.
However, Twisted MInds PH's arrival wasn't the only thing that sent a shockwave to the Filipino fans. They also recruited former Blacklist International players and the returning James “Jeymz” Gloria for their roster in MPL Philippines Season 15.
The former Team Liquid ID EXP Laner returned to his home country after a spell in Indonesia, where he successfully won the MPL Indonesia championship with his former team. However, Jeymz was primarily an unused substitute for the in-form
Aldhia “Aran” Aranda, prompting him to leave the team after the league's conclusion.
GosuGamers got to interview Jeymz during the MPL Philippines Season 15 media day to talk about his homecoming and why he chose the newly-established Twisted Minds. It goes without saying, but he said he was happy to return to his home country.
I’m really happy to be back in MPL PH because I feel so comfortable playing here in the Philippines, and the environment just feels right for me.
While he was a free agent for almost three months after the team announced his departure from Team Liquid ID alongside Tristan “YAWI” Cabrera, Jeymz was undoubtedly one of the hottest commodities in the free agency pool in the Philippines. However, he bided his time and chose Twisted Minds PH as his next destination, reuniting him with former Team Liquid PH Academy (then ECHO Proud) member
Jhonville Borres “Outplayed” Villar.
However, Jeymz admitted that he didn't set any specific standards for picking a team, and his goal was simply to play in the MPL Philippines again.
As for choosing Twisted Minds PH, honestly, I didn’t have any specific standards in picking a team. My only goal after leaving Indonesia was simply to play in MPL PH again.
A mind-twisting experience for Jeymz

Jeymz was a product of Team Liquid PH Academy, and his journey to Indonesia was a testament to the management's trust in him as he was promoted from the Philippines-based academy squad to the main roster for a different team in another country. While he held ground early in the MPL Indonesia Season 14 Regular Season, his position was soon taken by the veteran Aran, and he never played for the team again until his departure in November 2024 before the start of the M6 World Championship.
Jeymz told GosuGamers what made him lose his spot in Team Liquid ID's main roster. He believes that when it comes to skill, he never had a problem, but the real issue was communication. He admitted that it was challenging to communicate with his former teammates because not all of them were fluent in English, and learning Bahasa Indonesia was another challenge on its own.
Honestly, when it comes to skills, I never really had a problem — I was always confident in that. The real issue was communication, and that was the main reason why I lost my spot in the main five. It was really difficult to communicate since not all players there were fluent in English, and learning Bahasa was also a challenge. So, for me, communication was the most significant factor in why I wasn’t part of the main lineup anymore.
While his tenure in Team Liquid ID didn't end the way he wanted to, Jeymz shared that he had grown a lot from the experience and learned many valuable things.
For me, what I really learned is how to adjust to things I’m not used to. I feel like I’ve grown a lot from that experience and learned so many valuable things. I’m also really thankful because I got to experience many things I’ve always wanted to, which helped me grow in my career.
Jeymz will continue his journey in MPL Philippines alongside Twisted Minds PH once the MPL Philippines Season 15 Regular Season starts on February 28.
