We were in for a treat today as the Mobile Legends Professional League in the Philippines returned to our screens for the playoff stage of Season 13. Beginning the day, six teams would have their tournament lives intact, but by the culmination of two best-of-five elimination series, only four would remain. Kicking things off would be an epic series between Blacklist International and Minana EVOS – with the winner moving on to face FNATIC Onic PH.

Blacklist survives the initial stun

In an extremely hotly contested series, which ended up going the full distance, Blacklist only just managed to scrape through and survive the EVOS onslaught. After taking a commanding win in game one, and again in game three, it was both SpiderMilez and Domeng from EVOS which helped them with the fight back. Game four saw a magnificent Lesley absolutely decimate Blacklist – but there was no repeat performance in the final game.

The experience of Blacklist shone through when they needed it the most, as they held on to claim a 3-2 win in the first elimination series of the day. However, the once MPL PH champions would only get a short reprieve, as their next challenger awaited them in the wings – ONIC PH.

Sadly for Minana EVOS, the loss would mean that they were the first team to be eliminated from MPL PH Season 13 playoffs, as they regrouped moving forward into Season 14 later this year. Next on the cards, though, the newly branded Fnatic ONIC PH would need to keep their season going with a series against Blacklist International.
