Fnatic to acquire a Mobile Legends team for Esports World Cup?

Fnatic hinted a Mobile Legends team for the upcoming Esports World Cup 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia?

Fnatic, one of the biggest esports clubs in the world, apparently hinted at its future venture into the Mobile Legends scene in its announcement regarding its participation in the Esports World Cup. If this hint is true, this will be the first time the UK-based team acquires a Mobile Legends team.

While Fnatic may not be the first European-based team to acquire a Mobile Legends team, they could draw inspiration from the unique strategy of their predecessors, Team Secret

The first European superteam to venture into Mobile Legends, Team Secret, took a different approach. They didn't form an entirely European team but instead built their squad from the Malaysia MLBB scene. This strategy could influence Fnatic's approach and similarly impact MLBB's esports scene.

If we look at the current landscape, the women's MLBB scene is the only logical answer to where they can insert themselves. The reason is that MPL contracted all the big teams, and considerable money is required to insert their team or acquire a slot in the MPL.

However, it doesn't mean they wouldn't buy a slot in MPL's ecosystem, particularly if MOONTON tries to make a new European division.

The MLBB scene is currently on the rise, as MLBB is the dominant name in mobile MOBA esports. As the MPL is concluding one by one, MLBB's mid-season tournament, the MSC, is already on the horizon, and the ESWC will host the tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Currently, the MSC (Mid Season Cup) and the MWI (MLBB Women Invitational) are the tournaments from Mobile Legends that will compete in the Esports World Cup 2024, which will take place in Summer 2024.
