Todak reverse sweep NAVI to avoid elimination at M3

Natus Vincere and Todak were the first to seems fighting for their tournament lives at the M3 World Championships today.

As the M3 World Championships continued today, with its sixth day of playoff action, we were back to the lower bracket to start the day, as the Swordfish of Todak went up against the CIS juggernauts of Natus Vincere. Although the Malaysians were the first team to make RRQ Hoshi bleed, NAVI had already caused a massive upset in the lower bracket, eliminating RSG SG a short time ago. However, TDK were ready to fight, as we were definitely set for a massive series between the two teams.

TDK were easily the better team for the early stages of game one, but, as we knew from NAVI, they enjoyed taking the fight back toward their enemy – and that is exactly what they did. Although it seemed as though TDK were the ones in control, they begun to make some huge mistakes, which NAVI were ready to capitalise on. Eventually, smelling blood, NAVI took the first game win.

NAVI continued their advantage into game two, pushing TDK around across the map, with SunsetLover’s Roger being absolutely immaculate, as he found fantastic kills across the map. It did not take long for the CIS squad to find their opening to walk into the TDK base and take a second victory. With their backs against the walls, and elimination staring them in the face, TDK looked to finally make a significant showing in the series. TDK were relentless in the third game, looking to keep their heads above water and dominating the NAVI lineup and pulled a game back.

The most banned hero was left open in the next game, as TDK picked up the “forbidden” Hayabusa for their lineup, while marksmen were the name of the game for NAVI – which they seemed to not play towards. NAVI kept looking for early game engages, but with their scaling lineup, they failed at every turn, as TDK tied the series and took us to a final and decisive game five.

NAVI’s inexperience begun to show in the series, as they completely lost their composure, while TDK were able to keep calm and dominate, especially in the final game. Although the CIS squad saw an early game lead, they failed to use it to their advantage, allowing TDK to equalize and take over. Mis-positioning and mistakes were forced out from NAVI, as they quickly succumbed to the brilliance of TDK.

It took 12 minutes in the final game, but the Swordfish managed to complete a huge reverse sweep, taking down the CIS challengers and moving on to the next lower bracket round of the M3 World Championships, where they await their next opponent.
